back to gouache

80% of the work I do every day at Pearson is with Illustrator, 15% Flash and about 5% Photoshop. Even in a recent book illustration job I did there, where I thought I would be able to go more painterly in my work, I was asked to do digital vector artwork. So this weekend of snowstorms and laziness, I decided to grab some simple sketches and try color them goauche, which I haven't touched since school. Suffice to say it was half fun and have pain, but it was meant to be a no-stress thing.

Starting next saturday I will start a 5 week long figure painting pose, so no more lady cats for a while :P
